The Fireplace Retail is in the midst of bringing more gourmet retail items for your consumption. If you like the large variety of tea we serve at The Fireplace Cafe, you can now purchase gourmet tea for home consumption at affordable prices.

The Fireplace is now pet friendly.

You may find on one side of the wall along the staircase specially dedicated for pet related topic use. You may put up adoption notices, share pet stories, rescue stories or maybe some "chicken soup" pet lover story too.

For those who are afraid of dogs or cats, please do let the staff know so they can arrange a place free from animals for your needs.

While the place will be improving its facilities towards being pet friendliness, pet owners are advised to bring along their poo bags meanwhile when visiting the premises with your pet.

The Fireplace recently has unprecedentedly closed her retail for almost 2 weeks due to change in management.
During these time, The Fireplace has been receiving words of concerns and wishes for her perpetuation of this lovely retail and cafe. Just not long ago, the staff at the cafe received another 2 faithful retail customers trying to find out the well-being of the retail and expressed great concern in seeing the reopening of the retail again. Of course, apart from site visitors, staffs of The Fireplace have been receiving plenty of emails to check on the status of the retail and cafe.
Beside heart-warming customers, the staffs also received well wishes from suppliers hoping to see us reopening again.
Therefore, as a result of community support and warm words, the management for The Fireplace has decided to keep her door open both the retail and the cafe and to continue serving and thrilling their customers with exciting products, food, drinks, wines and activities.
Be sure when the old one leaves, the new ones would be better.
So stay tune for more exciting ride ahead.

The Fireplace has her first theme night with a flea market stall and special promotion for all vintage items on 8th May 2009 - 10th May 2009.
The place was totally flooded with customers and curious people on anything vintage and retro, from products at the flea market stall to audiences watching the live singing performances.
For the English singing night, we had YMCA, Sweet dream and of course we can't miss out John Travolta's Staying Alive.
For the Chinese singing night, we had the first of its kind Chinese retro and so we had many classics Cantonese from Law Man, Anita Mui's and the all time popular in the 80's Sam Hui.
So, be around for our next party.

On 21st May 2009, The Fireplace would be having her 1st private sale open only to members of The Fireplace or Lava card holders only.

All items on sale would be as much as 40% discount. During those time, only members would be entitled to private discount rate for 4 days running from 21st May to 24th May 2009.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the outlet however, the sale would not be applied to them.

So, please be sure to be down on those days as stocks are limited.

The official launch day on 25th April was greeted with much wishes and good support.

Traffic was high and continous. Cafe was totally packed with people as evening falls. Customers were marvelled with the new retail on the groundfloor and filled with delights as they browse through the shelves for gifts, souvenirs and apparels. The shop within a 10 days span was totally transformed from a laidback typical Chinatown electronic shop into a modern and vibrant looking store housing products from designer clocks to German imported keychains and en vogue apparels, falling short nothing but a runway and probably Vera Wang.

As for the cafe, it has fully integrated herself with the retail to be part of a bigger store with a music school soon to launch in June. To suit the retail theme, the cafe has been retrofitted with new pendant star lightings with sponsorship from Decor La'vie. To some, the star lightings may be familiar as they were also used by various institutions such as in NTU over a convocation and others.

While the whole store looks totally functional however, the founders for the place inheriting the spirit of the old Global Sounds, always seeking changes to pleasantly surprise her customers, would continue to work towards surprising her customers by slowly unfolding new areas and interest.

As of now, the latest surprise that just happened after the inauguration is the new Vintage Collection section and so to properly mark the section, we have organised retro nights on 15th and 16th of May. Please refer to earlier entries for further details.

Live band by PHONICS PLUS on Fridays (7-10pm). PHONICS PLUS was formed in 2007 by Avi (lead guitar), Nanda (Drums), Dawa (Bass), Darshan (rhythm guitar), Don (Lead Vocals, rhythm guitar/ keyboard). Originally a house band at "FLO" at One Fullerton, they now have a new home here and have settled in to warm up "THE FIREPLACE". Their selection of covers range from contemporary radio hits, jazz standards to bluesy, funk and classic rock tunes.

Live singing on Saturdays (8.30-10.30pm) brought to you by Echo Music in a variety of genres ranging from Mandopop to Cantopop, with a little mix of Korean and English too.

The Fireplace was fully inaugurated on the 25th April 2009 successfully as a store providing retail, cafe and music education services located at 268 South Bridge Road just at the tip of Smith Street along South Bridge Road, in between the Hindu and Buddha tooth relic temple. Global Sounds Home Cafe has since then fully integrated herself with TotallyHotStuff to provide our value customers better and more comprehensive services. TotallyHotStuff also has now effectively also be providing her customers with more than web e-portal services but now with a stylish looking shopfront for her customers and suppliers, making lifestyle shopping more exciting.
